Fox S.T.A.R. Mentor Program

Fox participates in a mentoring program with Dorsey High School in South Central Los Angeles. The mentoring program fosters caring and supportive relationships and allows the youth to have positive role models in life. Fox mentors bring their mentees to the studio for lunch every other week, and hold one-on-one meetings, or Fox sponsors speakers who give lectures on job skills, sexual awareness, financial aid, etc. In addition, Fox sponsors a $5,000 annual scholarship essay contest to participants of the program.

Friends of Fox

Fox participates with Friends of Fox, residents and businesses in the community surrounding Fox Studios, that believe that Fox Studios cares about it’s community. The members of Friends of Fox support Fox and alert the community to the job Fox is doing as a neighbor. Fox thanks it’s neighbors with Friends of Fox screenings of Fox movies and issues a newsletter informing the Friends of Fox of what Fox is doing in the community and the status of the Fox Studios Development project.

Auction Item Giveaway

Fox provides many charitable organizations and schools in the community with donations that can be used for auctions or fundraising purposes.

Angel Harvest

Fox donates food to the elderly, sick, the unemployed, and the homeless through this program. The Fox Commissary participates and donates, on average, 3,600 pounds of food a month. By donating unused food throughout the community, Fox is working to feed the hungry.

Cart and Trailer Donation

Fox helps many charitable organizations by donating carts and trailers for organizations in need. Fox has donated trailers to such organizations as New Economics for Women, which provides affordable housing and associated services for families and emancipated teenage mothers. Over the last three years, Fox has donated trailers and modular offices to the Dept. Of Forestry, the L.A.P.D., and other non-profits.

Second Time Around

Fox is involved in the Second Time Around program, which identifies and catalogues Not-For Profit Organizations, Churches, Youth Centers, and Schools in need of material donations. All equipment that is available is donated to benefit these needy organizations in the community.

Theater Programs

Fox has donated many items to numerous Theater groups to show that Fox supports the arts in the community. Donations have been made of theater supplies, such as props, set pieces, wardrobe, sounds systems, seats, etc., to organizations such as the Madrid Theater, the Dragnet/Fox Theatre, the American Renegade Theatre, the Shakespeare Festival, African Marketplace, and the L.A. Theater Alliance.

Century City Chamber of Commerce

Fox is a member of the Century City Chamber of Commerce and works to promote business within Century City. By participating in meetings and distributing the Membership and Benefits card which help local businesses, Fox works to be an integral part of the Century City business community. Fox is also a member of the West L.A. Chamber of Commerce.

Animagination Festival

Fox opens up it’s doors every year for the Animagination Festival, which works to develop the talents and creativity of Los Angeles underprivileged children by exposing them to the wonders of animation/graphic arts and career opportunities in the movie industry. Each year, about 350-400 foster youth, ages 10-18, who submit artwork, are selected to take part in the Animagination Festival. Foster youth are given a private showing of animation and attend a speech by a prominent animator. They are also given lunch and the ability to receive artwork by successful animators.

California AIDS Ride

Fox donated numerous facilities to serve as the end stop for the California AIDS Ride 5 (CAR 5). CAR 5 raises money for critical AIDS services in California. The money raised from the AIDS Ride is donated to various AIDS charities throughout California, including many in Los Angeles, such as the Jeffrey Goodman Special Care Clinic in Century City.

Para Los Ninos

Fox holds an annual toy and clothing drive to benefit Para Los Ninos. Para Los Ninos is a nonprofit family service agency designed to raise at-risk children out of poverty and into brighter futures through positive educational opportunities and support involving families and communities. These toys benefit children that would not receive presents during the holiday season.

Internship Programs

Fox has many internship programs to assist in various departments to learn and work at Fox. Fox maintains an Affirmative Action Internship program, with 6-10 students participating. There is also a Finance & Accounting internship program and a Summer internship program, with 40 graduate and undergraduate students participating. These internships benefit students by providing them with job opportunities and experience necessary for the workplace today.

Fox Storytelling Murals and Film

Fox funded a 2 year, innovative art program at 6 inner city elementary schools. The program involved local artists and film makers, assisting 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students to create mural and film art. Fox Studios then presented a selection of the mural art and a film created by these 430 students.

Hamilton High School

Fox has helped Hamilton High School with their graduation ceremony. Fox makes sure that this local area High School has sufficient funds to have their graduation every year.

Hollenbeck Youth Center

Youth Center that has an array of youth delinquency prevention programs, including athletic, educational, and cultural programs to keep kids off the streets. Hold annual Salute to the Los Angeles Dodgers Luncheon. Part of the Hollenbeck Police Business Council. Involved in the Inner-City Games Los Angeles.
